Before you email — quick answers

These come up almost every day. If your question is here, you can usually fix it in a minute.

How do I cancel my subscription? +

Subscriptions are billed by Apple. On your iPhone open Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions, tap GymProof, then Cancel Subscription. You'll keep access until the end of the current billing period.

How do I get a refund? +

All GymProof purchases are billed by Apple, so refunds are handled by Apple. Visit reportaproblem.apple.com, sign in with your Apple ID, find the GymProof charge and select Request a refund. Apple decides the outcome — we don't have the ability to issue refunds directly.

How do I restore a purchase on a new device? +

Sign in with the same Apple ID, open GymProof and go to Profile → Restore purchases. Your subscription will reactivate within a few seconds.

How do I delete my account and all my data? +

Inside the App, go to Profile → Account → Delete account. Confirm, and we remove your account, gym-selfie history, schedule and buddy list within 30 days. You can also email privacy@recastdesigns.com and we'll do it for you.

The app blocker isn't activating — what should I check? +

GymProof uses Apple's Screen Time / Family Controls framework to enforce blocks. Open Settings → Screen Time → App & Website Activity and make sure Screen Time is on. Then open GymProof, go to Profile → App lock and re-grant the Screen Time permission. If you signed out of your Apple ID recently you may need to re-authorize.

My Apple Health workouts aren't being counted as proof. +

Open Settings → Privacy & Security → Health → GymProof and confirm that Workouts and Steps are toggled on. Workouts logged with Apple Watch, Strava, Peloton and similar apps must finish syncing to Apple Health before GymProof can see them — give it a minute and pull-to-refresh in the App.

I'm not receiving (or my buddy isn't receiving) accountability texts. +

Check that the phone number on the buddy's profile is in international format (e.g. +14155551234). Some carriers also filter automated SMS — ask your buddy to add our sender to their address book. If it still doesn't arrive within five minutes, email support@recastdesigns.com with the buddy name and roughly when you skipped, and we'll pull the delivery log.

How do I change my weekly training schedule? +

In the App, go to Home → Schedule → Edit week. Tap any day to add or remove it from your commitment. Changes apply from the next day forward; the current day's commitment is locked once it has started.

The App keeps crashing or behaving strangely. +

First, make sure you're on the latest version (App Store → your profile → see if GymProof is in the update list). Restart your iPhone. If it still happens, email us with your iPhone model, iOS version and a short description of what you were doing — we'll get a fix out fast.
